Indigenous Research Center of the Americas
Indigenous Peoples' Professionals Directory

The Indigenous Research Center of the Americas hosts the Indigenous Peoples' Professionals Directory, which is designed to connect Indigenous communities for the purpose of exchanging skills, knowledge and employment opportunities. This will also provide researchers with Indigenous experts who can speak about their own experiences and knowledge. The database is a work in progress, and we are currently seeking support in order for on-going input and improvements.

Instructions:

  • Click on IPPD link which will open to the "search" page

  • Type words you wish to match in the appropriate fields (for example a last name, ethnic group or a skill such as beadwork). Consider that some entries may be in Spanish, so try "agricultura" as well as "farming", "tejido" as well as "weaving".

  • Click on "Start search" (upper left hand corner of page), as hitting "return" will not work

  • The next page will present a table of matching records, listed by last name. Double click on the appropriate row in order to see that person's full record in a single record format.
