Bio

Emily (she/they) is an enrolled member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, and a descendant of the Inhanktonwan (Yankton Sioux) people. She is a first-year PhD student in the Native American Studies department at UC Davis. She received her B.A. in Native American Studies with a focus in language and literature from CalPoly Humboldt in 2019.

Her current research interests include Traditional Ecological Knowledge (T.E.K.), land stewardship, federal and environmental policy, and the Land Back movement.
