Undergraduate Minor Requirements

Minor Program Requirements
(Effective Fall 2025)

The Native American Studies minor provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the Native experience in the Americas through coursework in history, literature, art, performance, languages, values, philosophy, religion, current events, political economy, and environment.

 

UNITS

Native American Studies Minor………………………………...24 (six total classes)
One lower division course in Native American Studies………4 (one class)
Five upper division courses in Native American Studies.....20 (five classes)

 

UC Davis students should take at least two UC Davis courses in fulfillment of the minor requirements. With approval of the minor advisor, the remainder of the minor requirements can be fulfilled via UC Davis courses and/ or NAS/ AIS/ NAIS courses offered via UC Online from any campus in the UC system.

Students from other campuses may also consult their departmental advisors about counting UC Online courses towards their regular degrees if NAS, AIS, or NAIS majors or minors are offered at their universities.
